Draft Analysis:
The following lists some of the prospects who are known to be on the radar of NBA teams.
Mostly of the information is collected from news publication.
| |
| | 1. | Trail Blazers
| | | Watch List: | Greg Oden (C). Mike Conley (PG).
| | Strategy: | The Trailblazers won the grand prize and are looking to trade for an extra pick to draft Mike Conley.
| | | | | 2. | Supersonics
| | | Watch List: | Kevin Durrant (SF).
| | Strategy: | The Supersonics won the best consolation prize in the draft. They'll pick Kevin Durrant and most likely build their francise around him.
| | | | | 3. | Hawks
| | | Watch List: | Al Horford (pf), Brandan Wright (pf), Yi Jianlian (pf/c)
| | Strategy: | They're reportedly torn between Brandan Wright and Al Horford, but they're also intrigued by Yi Jianlian.
| | | | | 4. | Grizzlies
| | | Watch List: | Al Horford (pf), Joakim Noah (c), Mike Conley (pg), Yi Jianlian (pf/c), Brandan Wright (pf), Corey Brewer (sg/sf), Nick Young (sg)
| | Strategy: | The Grizz is said to be unimpressed with Brandan Wright and very high on Al Horford. If Horford is gone then they're deciding between Conley, Noah, and Yi. Team consultant Jerry West is high on Noah but no word on Chris Wallace's preference.
| | | | | 5. | Celtics
| | | Watch List: | Yi Jianlian (pf/c). Jeff Green (sf/pf). Brandan Wright (pf). Al Horford (pf). Al Thornton (sf). Julian Wright (sf/pf). Joakim Noah (c). Corey Brewer (sg/sf). Spencer Hawes (c).
| | Strategy: | The Celtics would like to trade this pick for a superstar in the likes of KG, Jermain O'Neal, or Shawn Marion. They are also exploring trading down in return for a useful veteran and a lower draft pick. Overall, there's a good chance they make this pick for another team. If they keep this pick, they'd like to draft a big man, most likely one of Wright, Horford, or Yi. If they trade down, they may draft Hawes if they do not receive a big man via that trade; otherwise, they'll go for the best available player. Doc Rivers is rumored to like Green, Danny Ainge likes Yi, and Paul Pierce wants to trade this pick for immediate help.
The latest rumor has the Celtics trading this pick to the Suns.
| | | | | 6. | Bucks
| | | Watch List: | Al Horford (pf). Brandan Wright (pf). Yi Jianlian (pf). Mike Conley (pf). Jeff Green (sf/pf).
| | Strategy: | The Bucks are in love with Al Horford, but he'll most likely off the board. They are aslo hoping Brandan Wright will fall to them; but they're also intrigued by Yi. Conley or Green may be an option if the Bucks draft for need.

| | Strategy: | The Kings want to take a big man and they are quietly hoping the mysterious Yi would slide to them. If not, they are very high on Joakim Noah and Spencer Hawes, even though Noah refused to work out for the Kings. If all the top tiers big men are gone, look for the Kings to draft the best player available. At this point, the BPA could be Al Thornton.
| | | | | 11. | Hawks
| | | Watch List: | Mike Conley (pg), Javaris Crittenton (pg), Acie Law (pg).
